Paper Guidelines
In its call for papers, ACTJ invites paper submissions that are relevant to the theme of the conference. Proposals are considered in the form of refereed papers, mentored non-refereed papers, panel presentations and workshops. Please refer to ‘Paper Guidelines’ and ‘Important Dates’ to ascertain eligibility and timeline requirements. Please advised that in order for your paper to be considered for publication in either the newsletter or online journal, it must first be accepted for the conference proceedings.

Refereed Papers
Upon submission of your manuscript online with an indication of your preference for a refereed, peer reviewed process by the deadline indicated, your paper will undergo several review processes. The initial pre-screening process will account for relevance of theme, significance of submission, and overall quality.

Refereed manuscripts can be between 3000 and 5000 words in length. Additional space will be considered for appendices, data, maps, and other supplements. Those which meet the pre-screening approval then undergo a peer-review, double-blind referee process in which they are evaluated with regard to their academic merit, originality of analysis, and innovative use of advanced research methods and measurement procedures. Those which are accepted will be published in our new online refereed journal, which is to be announced in a forthcoming post. You should anticipate a time delay in receiving the desired feedback. Once you have received feedback and have made any necessary changes to your manuscript, the ACTJ Program Committee will determine its final approval and inclusion into the conference programme. Care is taken to ensure the timely completion of the review process. Confidentiality of author and reviewer is strictly maintained for both privacy and protection purposes. Please follow the specified submission deadlines and be advised that for approved paper presentations, you (as author and/or coauthor) must attend the conference in order for your presentation to be listed in the conference proceedings.

Non-refereed Papers
Non-refereed manuscripts can be between 1000 and 2000 words in length, and approved up until the last few weeks before the conference provided they demonstrate some relevance to the conference theme-- changed visions, educational priorities, leadership, policies, curriculum, and approaches to management in higher educational settings. It is important that the submission of your proposal is well in advance of specified deadlines in order to ensure successful inclusion into the conference programme. Please refer to ‘Important Dates’ for the deadlines set-out for non-refereed abstracts and papers. Those manuscripts will be published in Canadian Content. Submissions pertaining to this year’s conference theme are strongly encouraged; however, others of a more general nature pertaining to classroom practice will also be considered. Those which are of exceptional quality will be selected for inclusion in our new online refereed journal, which is to be announced in a forthcoming post. Please follow the specified submission deadlines and be advised that for approved paper presentations, you (as author and/or coauthor) must attend the conference in order for your presentation to be listed in the conference proceedings.
